Jewellery designer Iona Buxton

The Beginning

Based in the City of Durham, Iona Buxton Jewellery is dedicated to creating bespoke jewellery pieces that reflect and celebrate the individuality of the men and women who wear them.

Her love for jewellery started at university, when she had a part time job at a fine jewellery shop in Edinburgh. Inspired by the stones that the jewellery held, she then went on to qualify as a GIA Gemmologist in London. With qualifications in diamonds and coloured stones, she then worked in various sectors of the jewellery industry. Iona worked for 6 years at one of the leading gemstone suppliers in London’s historic Hatton Garden. Being surrounded by thousands of stones every day helped her to understand the market and gives her a unique perspective when sourcing the perfect stone for your one-off piece

Founder, Jeweller & GIA Gemmologist

Iona enjoys designing various different styles of jewellery. Much like her music taste, she doesn’t just stick to one genre. Taking inspiration from the world around her, vintage and modern jewellery and the wearers' style to create the perfect piece that best reflects the wearer.

And Now...

A surprising amount of Iona's commissions have been through online consultations. Now that that we live in a very convenience based world, being able to communicate effectively and execute a bespoke piece to the exact specifications is key. You will be guided through every step of the way to ensure your vision is coming to life whether virtually or face to face.
